Anthony Connell.

I have chosen to look at Anthony Connell because he does quite a few different types of photography. He doesn't just focus on one genre. His website is quite plain. It's just black, I think it would look so much better if there was a lot more bright and vibrant colours, it would make it a lot more eye catching and would draw your attention instantly. I like how he has all his types of photography on his navigation bar, they're clear, easy to find and use. I like how he has used a slideshow on his home page because it shows you a few pieces of his photography and tells you straight away what types of photography he does. I also like how it is big, bold and eye catching and it is not easy to miss. Anthony Connell has put 6 different types of photography on his site, they are: Wedding, Pregnancy, Portrait Photography, Boudior Photography, Model Portfolios and Client Testimonials. Each section has a bit of information about each one like what would happen when you go onto the photo shoot. I like pretty much all the photo's that are on his site because they look so professional and well done. What I don't about the website is that it's so boring, there is too much writing. So straight away is wouldn't catch someones attention. Also I don't like how he has got such lovely pictures on there then he has everything else black. David West.

I have chosen to look at David West because he focus' on only wedding photography and I LOVE wedding photography. His website colour is just plain white but I think it goes really well with everything and I think having it a simple colour makes it good. What It think would look the website look even better was if his name which is right at the top and the different sections on the navigation bar were black because they're a really light colour and you can't really see them that well. I also think that the writing is a bit small, so if it was a bit bigger and it was black then people would want to read it more and it will become a bit more eye catching if it was a bigger font. I like how he has many different options and pages to go on, on his navigation bar, they are: Home, Portfolio, Pricing, About me, Latest work, Questions?, Contact and  Client Area.  I like how you can look at so many different things instead of just looking at his photography. You can find out information about this photographer and when he started doing photography. Which not a lot of people put on their websites. I love all the photos that are on this website, they are all so professional and just plain beautiful. I like the amount of photos he has on his site. So if someone wanted to use this photographer, they could just look through his website and have a look at all the different types of wedding photography he does and have a wide range of photographs to look at instead of just having a few pictures to look at. The Side Gallery.

In early September I got given the chance to go to Newcastle to look at some Galleries. One of the Galleries I went to was the side gallery. This gallery was about the roles that the women had in Afghanistan. One of the photo's I looked at was called 'The Afghan Girl'. The girl in this photo was appeared on the cover of National Geographic in June 1985. The girl in this photograph is called Sharbat Gula. What really caught my eyes about the photo was her eyes, you could see the horror in them straight away, unsure about what the future lies ahead maybe. Steve McCurry, who took the first image of this girl, then took another photograph of her which showed the effects of the horrible life Sharbat Gula has lived. The Laing Gallery.

In early September I got given the chance to go to Newcastle to look at some Galleries. One of the Galleries I went to was the Laing Gallery. This gallery had all sorts of different types of art in it. Such as sculptures, wool tapestry, photography and 18th and 19th century art paintings. In the main entrance there was quite a bit weird sculpture which was made by someone called Henry Moore, the sculpture was called ‘Seated woman with long neck’. This is the piece of art work from the Laing Gallery that really stood out to me because it was the first thing I saw when I walked into the gallery and it was the most weird thing in the Gallery. On some of the paintings in the Laing Gallery, the capions on the paintings only had who painted it/Photographs name on it and the date of it. It didn't really tell you much about the images at all. Which I think is a bad thing because then you have to try and guess what the images is when I'd rather be told what the image is because if I had to guess at what it was then I could get it totally wrong.

Annie Leibovitz At Work. 

One of the books I have chosen is called Annie Leibovitz at work. The photographs that have been taken in this book are a mixture of black and white. In some places of this book I think it has been laid well and on some other bits they haven't been laid out well in my opinion. I think this because on some of the pages there is just pages and pages of text and if I was to see that much text I wouldn't read it because of how much there is. Also, the writing isn't very big so I would find it quite difficult to read it all. But then on some pages, there is a photograph in the middle of the page then on the page next to it there is a bit of text which explains the photograph on that page. Also, there is a caption on every photograph in the book at the bottom of the page which says what the photograph is and what the photograph is called and which date the photograph was taken. Which is a good thing because some people might want to know what the photograph is called and which year it was taken. I like how on some of the pages it has been laid out where there is quote a few photographs on one page so you have more to look at and all the photographs on one page are all related in some way or form.
The majority of the photographs in this book are in black and white but there are a few in colour. But I think some of the photographs that are in black and white were originally taken in colour but then the photographer edited into black and white to make the image look better. Then I think on some of the coloured photographs she has added some sort of frame to it or a border to make it better and stand out a bit more. I don't really like the photographs in this book because there are some very explicit images and I don't like that sort of photography as I think it is a off put. 

Diana Princess of Wales.

I have chosen this book because I think it is completely different to the first one I did. The photographs in this book are also a mixture of black and white and coloured photographs. On the first couple of pages in this book it is just full of text. Some of the pages of text is in a totally different languages which I think is irrelevant and then the pages in English explain some of the photos and about Princess Diana. Some of the photos in this book aren't presented very well. As theres like a small random photo in the corner of a big page which I don't think looks good.

Wild Life Photographers Comparison 

I have chosen to look at the work from the photographers called Craig Jones and Chis Weston. They both take photos of wild life animals such as; tigers, lions, birds, bears and loads of different wild life creatures. In my opinion, I think most of the photographs that Craig Jones have taken are more natural but may have been edited slightly but not loads. Unlike Chris Weston, I think he has edited his images quite a lot to make them a lot brighter then they originally were and to make them better and so you can see all the detail in the animals face. I like Craig Jones' work better because I like the more natural look because I think it makes you get a better feeling of the image unlike Chris Weston, because he has edited his photos quite a bit I don't think you get a good feeling of the image because you don't actually know what the image looked like before he edited it. The photographs that Craig Jones has took, I think look a lot better because of the settings he has used on his camera, because of the depth of field that is on the photograph, it really makes the animal stand out so much and really detailed. I like this because it's a close up photograph of this tiger and I like how you can see all the colours of it. I like the look on the tigers face as if it's about to go and catch something for its dinner. I also like how the photographer and named the photograph 'Eye of the tiger'. I don't think this image has been edited but I think it might of been cropped so it's just half the tigers face. I also think that he has used a special type of camera lens so he can get a really close up photo of the tiger as he wouldn't of been able to get a good close photograph with a normal camera lens. I like how when you click onto the photo to make it bigger it says what type of tiger it is and if it is male or female and which country it comes from which I think is good as it give a bit of information about the tiger.
